The Pet Whisperer™ December
2007
Dr. Blake and
Dr. Louie.
Happy
Holidays to all of our readers out there in ether space. Dr.
Louie and I want to thank you all for being such loyal
followers of the Pet Whisperer Newsletter, and sharing it
with those you know, asking them to do the same. As you
know, Dr. Louie and I call it paying it forward. Each time you
share our words, you help to shape the future of veterinary
medicine away from Flat Earth thinking to that of Round Earth,
Quantum thinking. The power of one is alive and well in the
world today. The more we pay it forward each and every day,
the sooner we will see a shift in the paradigm from a
Reductionism form of medicine, to Quantum based healing.
Keep up the good work and always stay on the
path.
"When men differ, both sides ought equally
be heard by the public, for when truth and error have fair
play, the former is always an over match for the
latter" Benjamin Franklin
As you
are all aware, our home was spared in the recent firestorms,
that took our home 4 years ago. We are very grateful for all
the kind words and support after the fire of 2003 and this
year.
I forgot
to mention a very important lesson I learned from both fires.
When pets were separated from their caregivers, they
often were not returned because of identification
problems. I have spoken about this before but the fire brought
it back loud and clear. How do you make sure your friend is
returned should he or she be lost.
Microchips have been a popular way of identification.
When you go to my web site page on Micro chipping http://www.thepetwhisperer.com/MicroChips.html ,
you will learn the pros and cons of using them. Make sure you
aware of the dangers before putting a chip in your
dog.
The
company I recommend for identification for Dr. Louie and all
my personal things, is SmartiTag tm. The
information on this great product is on my web site, http://www.thepetwhisperer.com/MicroChips.html . They
are giving a 10% discount if you order using the
code 68136 on my web page to all that order
in the next few months.
A
story about a very brave Dog, named Tiger!
by
Dr.
Stephen Blake
The
picture I have shown here, is how TIger felt about going
to see veterinarians. His owner had warned me he wasn't
enamored with vets but that she thought he would do fine with
me at my home office. When she called me, she confided in me,
she had been told he only had a few weeks left according to
the veterinarian she had taken him to be examined by. He was
unable to walk and was urinary incontinent.
I
listened to her heart felt story, about a dear friend, who had
seen her through some difficult times and now she was feeling
hopeless about their future together. As I listened to her sad
words, I felt that this 13 year old German shepherd was given
the name Tiger for a reason. If we can give him a chance
to heal, the Tiger in him would reveal itself and he would
have more time to share with his dear friend.
They had
to hire a driver to bring him to my home office because
they needed help to get him out of the car. It was a beautiful
day, sun shining brightly, 75 degrees and fall in the air,
when my new friend, Tiger arrived.
It
saddened me to see this once powerful, Tiger in a dog suit,
struggling to stay erect with all of his family supporting
him. With help he dragged himself up the walk and into my
office. I felt the frustration and sadness in his condition
but at the same time, I saw the fierce determination in his
eyes. When he looked at me, I knew he was not going to give
up, without a heck of a fight.
I
greeted the owner, her mother and her brother, who all came to
be with him, in his time of need. The sadness in their eyes,
brought a heavy feeling in my heart. Tiger was showing me with
his eyes, that he wanted them to be positive about him getting
better and my job was to help that wish come
true.
He was
exhibiting a condition, which is medically described as,
degenerative myelopathy. Basically the animal becomes
progressively paralyzed from the hind limbs forward, until
they are completely paralyzed, and have to be euthanized. They
had already been given the death sentence for their long time
friend, and were looking for a miracle to save
Tiger.
As I ran
my hands over the shell of what he had once been, I
sensed a tremendous inner strength emanate from his spine
as I gently massaged him. He made sure we all saw his will to
live and that the other veterinarian, was wrong in assuming it
was time to euthanize him.
I did
what I could to help him and sent him on his way with his
homeopathic, Gemmotherapy, Essential oils and nutritional
support. As he was being loaded back into the hired car, he
looked back at me and barked as loud as he could. My feeling
was not of good by, but "I will be back." The sad expressions
on his family's faces, had been replaced by smiles of hope. I
said a silent prayer for my new friend and wished him well on
the next part of his eternal journey.
Some
days later, I heard a voice on my answering machine, which
sounded very panicked. I immediately called and spoke with
Tiger's Mom. She was ecstatic. He had shown marked improvement
and they felt encouraged that he was back and on his way to
getting better. As I was listening to her hopeful words, I was
over whelmed with joy and gratitude. After hanging up, I
prayed that his reprieve from the grim reaper, was not to be
short lived.
Time
passed and Tiger held his own. He fought with all his heart to
make his time with his family the best he could. They cared
for him in every way and his quality of life was the best
they all could make it.
Over a
year had passed since we first met, and the call I had hoped
would never come arrived. It was late one evening and a
menacing peeping sounded on my message center. I cautiously
activated the message and heard the sad voice of Tiger's Mom
talking to me. He had taken a turn for the worse and they felt
it was time to put him down. Tears came to my eyes as I
thought of the Tiger, who had barked so bravely a year before,
lying paralyzes on his side, unable to rise. Barking out of
frustration because he could not even lift his head. I felt
his suffering and understood his fear of not being able to
protect his family or himself.
I called
his Mom and we talked for some time, before I finally told her
that if he did not respond to my next treatment, it was his
way of saying it was time to cross the rain bow bridge.
She was very sad to hear these words, as I was delivering
them.
I worked
on his case for some time and came to the conclusion that the
Rabies vaccine, he had been given 4 years before, was the
probable trigger for his demise. I researched Thuja, and it
fit his case at that time perfectly. I sent home the treatment
that same day, and instructed the family to put off
the euthanasia for three days, to see what Tiger could do. I
said a healing prayer for him and told his Mom to think good
thoughts, no matter what.
She had
already scheduled a home euthanasia veterinarian to come put
him down three days after we spoke. I had told her to
keep the appointment open, until we heard from Tiger.
The call
came the next day. I held my breath and finally turned on
the message center, to hear what the fate of my dear friend
would be. The voice on the message, was that of joy. He had
responded to the treatment over night and was able to raise
his head high, like the Tiger he was. Her tears of joy filled
the room and my heart soared with knowing that my buddy was on
his way back.
Needless
to say, they immediately called the euthanasia veterinarian
and canceled the dreaded appointment. I know in my heart that
Tiger is back guarding his family with the pride of a Tiger,
the Tiger in the dog suit.
Never
give up, that is Tiger's lesson to us all.
