The Ambassadors of Peace

A happy Dr. Blake with his new friend Louie ;O)

First of all I do not want you all to panic and ask yourselves, "Where is the 3rd Commandment According to Saint Dog?" It is in the context of this newsletter. I had such an amazing experience with the Gray Whales in Baja, Mexico, I had to write about it.

I had the good fortune of traveling 500 miles south to San Ignacio Lagoon on the Pacific Coast of Baja California, Mexico and being with the most incredible beings on our planet.

It has always been my dream to meet a whale and tell them how much they mean to me. I also wanted to do something for them and felt that if I spoke to them like I always have done with the cats and dogs I treat, they would grant me an opportunity to touch them.

My plan was to take Frankincense, Arnica, and Rescue remedy with me, with the hope that I could massage it on their beautiful bodies. I was not prepared for what was awaiting me in the lagoon, as I flew south in a 50 year old antique Convair transport plane. I should have known that this was going to be a great adventure, when I found out they always keep a mechanic on the plane in case there were any mechanical problems we may have on our flight south.

We had a great trip down and as we came in for our landing on the dirt air strip, we could see whales and calves below us. As it turned out there were nearly 300 whales in the lagoon while I was there. Once we got settled in our tents, we were introduced to our pongaderos, who were the local drivers of our 15 foot pongas. These are very small boats but very stable.

Every where we looked, were blows from dozens of whales and their calves. It was as if I was on a different planet where the inhabitants were 40 feet long and weighed 40 tons. As I watched them glide through the emerald green waters of the lagoon, I was in awe of how magnificent they were in their own world, and that we were tiny guests in a world of giants.

When the first whale spyhopped, raised its head vertically 15 feet and looked in my eyes, I was hooked and could not get enough of being in their presence for the next 5 days. Since we were 100 feet from the whales 24/7, I had the sounds of whales to fall asleep to and awaken to each and every day. It was the most peaceful and comforting sound I could imagine.

It was while I was observing these magnificent beings that I got the idea to refer to my new friends as, "The Ambassadors of Peace." The fact that they are so friendly to people, after centuries of being murdered by people, made me feel they are here to teach us about caring for each other instead of killing each other. I was humbled by their generosity in sharing their lives with us and allowing us to be close to them.

When the day came and a whale I called Louie came up to our boat and let us touch him, I was yelling in joy. The picture at the top of the newsletter is Louie approaching our boat just before he let me touch him. I felt like a little child who had seen his first puppy and I was jumping with joy. I had put the Valor (the essential oil blend that I refer to as the Chiropractor in a bottle www.thepetwhisperer.com ), Arnica and Rescue remedy on my hands and rubbed it on his nose. It felt like a soft rubber wetsuit that was shiny black and slippery to the touch. My dream had come true and I was getting to help a whale on his 10,000 mile roundtrip journey to and from San Ignacio Lagoon. I told him that these supplements were to help his body stay healthy on his long journey.

Looking into his huge soulful eye made me feel such a sense of peacefulness and timelessness. His wisdom emanated from his eye and when I saw him wink at me I knew he was telling me something. My feeling was that he was telling me that his mission was to teach us about helping others. He rubbed against the boat, with such care as not to frighten us but to let us know he liked us being there. It reminded me of when a cat rubs against you when he likes you and wants to mark you as a friend. I could feel his knuckles bumping one knuckle at a time as he slowly moved across the keel of the boat. It felt like someone gently knocking on the bottom of the boat, beating out a message to us in the form of vibrations. It made me realize just how small we are compared to the universe and the creatures of our seas.

The largest animal that has ever graced this planet's surface is the Blue whale, who reaches 100 feet in length and weighs 70 tons. These magnificent mammals of the sea, are so graceful and athletic, that they can launch themselves out of the sea with two flicks of their tail. When they breach, you are dwarfed by the immense mass of their bodies and the crash as they fall into the water. In one moment they are crashing into the sea and the next they are gliding carefully by your boat, so as not to cause you any harm or worries. Their cousins the Gray Whales are smaller and slower but just as magnificent as the Blue Whale

I have always referred to the elephants as the gentle giants of the land and now I have met their brothers and sisters, the gentle giants of the sea. The more I thought about the plight of the whale, the more convinced I became that they were the wisest of all the animals I had met in my life. It is hard to put into words but looking into their eyes was like looking into the abyss of wisdom, where all the answers to all the questions I had ever had were waiting for me to discover.

When I had to leave this magical place, my heart grew heavy and the tears drifted down my cheeks as I said, "Until we meet again." The feeling I had was that they are out there for all of us and all we have to do is ask them for guidance and they will be there to help us in any way they can.

As the plane left the dusty, dirt run way I glanced back at the lagoon and waved good bye to my new friends. The plane banked toward the sea and as I looked down I saw a whale breech and I knew it was Louie saying "Do not worry, be happy, for we are content with the lives we lead and want you to be the same!" It felt so peaceful, all I could think to say is thank you for being my friend and I will return as soon as I can to pick up where we left off.

I would suggest you all learn as much as you can about whales and pay it forward to others. I have listed a couple of websites on my website www.thepetwhisperer.com under my products and services section. My plan it to set up a page on my website for whales, with sounds, video and links to help our Ambassadors of Peace continue their work to make Heaven on Earth. Make today a great day and thank the whales for all they for us.

The following is a quote from my new friend, the Orca Lady, Mary Getten's book Communication with Orcas. She is a wonderful person who has shared with the world her conversations with Orcas and other creatures.

"We have nothing but love for one another, as we love ourselves. There is no competetion and everything is done for the good of the family. We stay together forever, joined through energy , love and harmony. We play together, we sleep together, we even have adventures together. The primary goal is for the Pod to live together as one. Everything is done for the good of the group, not the individual." These are the words of a great spiritual being named Granny (Female Orca) who wants us all to live as one.

Now that I have you all teary eyed over the gentle giants, I am going to share with you the Third Commandment According to Saint Dog.

The Third Commandment According to Saint Dog.

Be kind with your thoughts and actions.

Have you ever asked yourself, "What do dogs think about when they meet someone on the street?" Do they comment on the hair style of their fellow canines and compare groomers credentials? Do they joke about how thin or fat their fellow species appears and criticize them for not working out at the gym seven days per week? Do they snicker behind the backs of others and tell their buddies how ugly the poodle with one eye or missing a limb is? The answer is NO!

In my book, The Pet Whisperer , I tell of a story about Sammy, a German Shepherd, who had bone cancer. I tell of a sweet dog who once wagged his tail when people approached him but when people saw his cancer, they would tell his caregiver how cruel they were to keep him alive. Immediately he became very sad and lost all his faith in mankind because of these insensitive comments. His caregiver was so hurt by these comments, she began walking him under the cover of dark, so that she could protect her buddy from unkind thoughts.

Saint Dog is more interested in being kind, lavishing others with unconditional love. Saint Dog's thoughts are pure. His message to us is be kind in our thoughts and actions. When he greets someone he does not check out their clothes, level of education, family linage, hairdresser or what veterinarian they use. He wags his tail, smiles, kisses you and asks for a good massage.

Saint Dog's message is us is to be the person you are having unkind thoughts about or taking physical actions against. Feel their hurt before you hurt them.

As Saint Dog walks about this earth as a messenger of peace, his only thoughts are to be kind and generous with his time. He wants us all to pay it forward. He asks nothing in return for his help but that we help at least three others and ask them to do the same.

Please pay this one forward for me and Saint Dog :O)

"The reason a dog has so many friends is that he wags his tail instead of his tongue."

The following material came to me from one of my dear clients who asked me to share this beautiful story with all of my readers. Enjoy the read and please pay it forward. I know these are the words of Saint Dog, Cat, Horse, Elephant, Whale, Bird, etc., and they want us all to learn by them.

Lisa Beamer on Good Morning America - If you remember, she's the wife of Todd Beamer who said "Let's Roll!" and helped take down the plane that was heading for Washington, D.C.

She said it's the little things that she misses most about Todd, such as hearing the garage door open as he came home, and her children running to meet him. She's now the Mom of a beautiful little girl, Mary.

Lisa recalled this story:

I had a very special teacher in high school many years ago whose husband died suddenly of a heart attack. About a week after his death, she shared some of her insight with a classroom of students. As the late afternoon sunlight came streaming in through the classroom windows and the class was nearly over, she moved a few things
aside on the edge of her desk and sat down there.

With a gentle look of reflection on her face, she paused and said, "Class is over. I would like to share with all of you, a thought that is unrelated to class, but which I feel is very important.

"Each of us is put here on earth to learn, share, love, appreciate and give of ourselves. None of us knows when this fantastic experience will end. It can be taken away at any moment. Perhaps this is the Powers way of telling us that we must make the most out of every single day."

Her eyes beginning to water, she went on, "So I would like you all to make me a promise. From now on, on your way to school, or on your way home, find something beautiful to notice. It doesn't have to be something you see, it could be a scent, perhaps of freshly baked bread wafting out of someone's house, or it could be the sound of the breeze
slightly rustling the leaves in the trees, or the way the morning light
catches one autumn leaf as it falls gently to the ground.

"Please look for these things, and cherish them. For, although it may sound trite to some, these things are the 'stuff'of life. The little things we are put here on earth to enjoy. The things we often take for granted. We must make it important to notice them, for at anytime it can all be taken away."

The class was completely quiet. We all picked up our books and filed out of the room silently. That afternoon, I noticed more things on my way home from school than I had that whole semester.

Every once in a while, I think of that teacher and remember what an impression she made on all of us, and I try to appreciate all of those things that sometimes we all overlook.

Take notice of something special you see on your lunch hour today. Go barefoot, or walk on the beach at sunset. Stop off on the way home tonight to get a double dip ice cream cone. For as we get older, is not the things we did that we often regret, but the things we didn't do.

As you all know I cannot publish a newsletter without giving my favorite topic a mention....Vaccinations. Here is link to many references you can share with friends and family who want to see articles presenting the con side to vaccinations, instead of only pro positions from the vaccination industry. Vaccination and Allergy Citations

Make today a great day and please pay it forward.
