I cannot believe the month of January has come and gone so quickly.1/12 of 2003  already gone. As my time on this planet grows, I find time passing more and more quickly with each and every day. I have pondered this phenomena and made the following observation.

When we arebut fledglings on the planet and have spent but a year here on Mother Earth, a year is twice or our life span. As the decades come and go, a year becomes a 1/10 of our life span and then a 1/20, 1/30 etc. By the time you get to my point on the journey it is down to 1/55 of my life span. At this rate time will be passing so fast that I will not even have time to get used to writing the new year down before it is time to change again.

You are all probably wondering why am I talking about time, when you are all just waiting patiently for my pearls of wisdom to make your animal friends happier and healthier. The reason I am sharing these thoughts with you is because of something that happened to me over the New Years holidays.

I fell very ill on my time off for the holidays with my family and was laid up in   bed for 3 days. As I lay in bed wishing I could be outside having fun with my family, I came to the relation that I was so much more fortunate than millions of people and animals who are suffering for years. I knew I would get well and be able to do all the things that other are not so fortunate to be able to do. It was at that moment that the following words came to me."We are all fellow time travelers on our journey through eternity. All we have of value to share with one another is our TIME = LOVE. It is the most precious thing we have to give. Our spirits are eternal, so is the time we have to share on our infinity journey. When you feel this in your heart, your journey will be a gentle one filled with contentment and a sense of well being. Enjoy the ride and share your time wisely,"

Now that we are through my insights into time, lets talk about some specifics that I feel will help you all with your familles health.

The first topic is on the subject of  What is healing?

Here are my words on the definition of the Healing process in all animals two legged, four legged and no legged alike.

All symptoms created by the body are an expression of the doctor within attempting to heal the body. Eliminating the symptoms without understanding the principles of the healing process will always fail if the root of the illness is not taken care of.

The symptoms which affect the most vital functions, such as the heart, brain, lungs are usually improved first and the least vital, I.E., Skin, coughing, itching are the last to be resolved. The Mental well being of the patient is the most important symptoms to improve except in a life threatening situation. If the treatment only helps the physical symptoms but does not help the sense of well being, you have not found the correct path of healing. The patient heals from inside to outside.

Healing progresses in a reverse order of how it manifested in the patient's history. The return of old symptoms is part of the healing process. As long as these symptoms resolve and there is a continued sense of well being, you are on the correct course of healing. The appearance of discharge is also part of the healing process and all efforts should be to facilitated rather than suppress this process with drugs.

Last but not least the patient heals from top to bottom. If a rash has been the problem, it will clear on the top of body and then proceed to the bottom on the patient.

By knowing these basic principles of healing, we as caregivers can better interpret the health of our animal friend. For every action there is a reaction. Knowing this basic rule of physics is essential in evaluating any course of treatment. Make sure you listen to the animal when it is under treatment to determine if the reaction is what the animal's body wants.

No matter what modality of treatment you are using in the care of your pets, these principles must be adhered to or there is no chance of curing the animal of its infirmity. the following story is an example of an actual case that shows how this works in the real world of medicine.

Ms. Kelsey's Story

Ms. Kelsey is a very cute calico cat that had been sick for a very long time. Her symptoms had been treated by many veterinarians all doing their very best to help her free herself of pain. When I saw her for the first time she was so frightened by the trip to see me and anticipating that I would repeat the same treatments that had failed her in the past. Many of the medications had her feel even worse than her chronic illness.
I decided to first comfort her by telling her how beautiful she was and that I was not going to put a thermometer up her little bottom. As I spoke to her, she looked into my eyes and gave me the look of show me what you mean. I rubbed some Frankincense and a blend called Release Young Living Essential Oils -Independent Distributorship into my hands, reached into her carrier and gently gave her a head and neck massage. I then closed the carrier and continued to talk to her Mom about their life together.
It turned out that Ms. Kelsey had  a chronic problem with vomiting and diarrhea. Here treatment had consisted of medications to suppress the vomiting symptoms but she continued to have chronic problems. As we spoke I kept a close eye on my new friend and noticed that as we talked about her, she moved a little closer to the front of her little sanctuary and her pupils became smaller and smaller. I could feel her relaxing and really getting into this new approach to her health care.
Finally the time had come to take her out of her carrier and she was pretty frightened, so I gave her a dose of Aconitum napellus1M and massaged more Release  Young Living Essential Oils -Independent Distributorship into the tips of her ears, top of her head and down her back. We then let her jump down on the floor of my office and go where she needed to go to feel safe.
I always tell my clients to watch their pet's behavior so they can stay in close communication with how they are doing. In this case I told her Mom to watch her behavior and tell me what is her normal behavior and her fear status looked like. As we proceeded MS. Kelsey came started placing sent on things by rubbing and walking around the room. She rubbed against her Mom and that moment I could see tears coming to her Mom's eyes. She then said to me," I am so happy someone finally is listening to my cat!" At that moment Ms. Kelsey looked up and gave me a wink. She then began to act much like she would at home. It was at this point I knew we were on the correct path because she just said YES ;O)
The importance of this is that we say a shift in her mind and spirit which means she is moving in the correct direction, even though it is too early to tell how her physical symptoms will do. First step in healing is sense of well being, and when Ms. Kelsey left she was full of it.

Frank's Story
Another story that is dear to my heart is about Mr. Frank, a rescue Saluki in New
Jersey who came into my life with a life or death phone call from Janet with Saluki Rescue. She informed me that he had been in intensive care for weeks and was dying. The veterinarian had prepared his care giver Ed for the worst. She asked if there was anything I could suggest to help. All that came to my mind was Bovine Colostrum (Visit Sedona Labs Pro or email: nzspecialist@sedonalabspro.com for information). I told her I would send out the product priority mail that day. The following is the letter I received from her.
       Hi Dr. Blake:

I can't THANK YOU ENOUGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! Let's see if I can back track the time line for you.. on Thursday, June 27, Frank, the Saluki was removed from all meds, antibiotics, etc. He was in such a state that the vets suspected only a bad outcome. We started him on a probiotic and your Enzyme Super Pro on Friday. Saturday he was a little better, but nothing to get excited about...same for Sunday. On Monday when Ed went by to see him, Frank jumped up greeted him with a wagging tail and off for a walk they went. Amazing. Ed told me he was so startled that he didn't what to do. I think he had decided that euthanasia was going to be the outcome. Ed took Frank home that evening and so far so good. He still has diarrhea, but his appetite is back and his attitude is great. Now, bear in mind, that we are only cautiously optimistic here, but we had only bad-worse news prior to taking him off all medications and switching him to holistic treatments. All I can say is thank you...and yes, I will pass it forward. In fact, I sent an e-mail out to hundreds of people on our rescue e-mail list telling the story, the treatment, and so far, the outcome. Hope to talk with you very soon.

My Best,
Janet

I just spoke with Janet yesterday  to see how my old friend was doing. She said that she was sorry to say he had passed on due to probable cancer. I was so sad to hear of his passing but she interrupted me and went on to tell me what had happened.

Ed was so happy to get his little friend back and that due to the colostrum he was able to have more time with him than he had ever hoped. He wanted to thank me for giving him Nature's Forgotten Miracle because it had made it possible for him to have more quality time with his little buddy. Not only that he has become a convert to alternative veterinary medicine and preaches to everyone about how Colostrum helped his good friend. Janet also said that her group (STOLA/Saluki Rescue) is recommending it for all of their rescue dogs. The use of Phenylpropanolamine has been common in the treatment of urinary incontinence for decades in canines. I have seen various problems with the use of the drug depending on the sensitivity of the individual's  vital force. The following website will give you insights into the problems with the drug in people. My experience shows that canines are just as susceptible to these side effects as human beings.  Phenylpropanolamine Information Page  and  Google Search: phenylpropanolamine .

The lack of bladder control is not due to a deficiency of Phenylpropanolamine but rather an imbalance in the body resulting in this symptom. There is no one treatment for this condition but I have found some general rules you can follow. First of all stop annual vaccines and any chemicals from being placed on or in the animal. These are all potential etiologies which may contribute to this susceptibility. I have found that Agronomy (Bach Flower) may help at a dose of 5 drops one to four times per day. Restorative Formula (TCM formula He Gui Bu Shen Pian ) at a dose of 1 tablet one to four times per day depending on the size of the dog. Giant Redwood (Gemmotherapy) 5 drops one to four times per day. Renafood (Standard Process) 1 to 4 tablets per day. Homeopathically you need to know the total picture of the animal's case to find the simillimum necessary to treat the animal. Go to  Complementary, Alternative, and Holistic Veterinary Medicine (AltVetMed) ,  The Academy of Veterinary HomeopathyAcademy of Veterinary Homeopathy Referral List In Country and State Order 12-22  to find an accredited veterinary homeopath to help with caring for your animal.

The main thing to be aware of is the potential dangers of any product you use. There is the primary effect we refer to which in this case is the controlling of the leakage of urine. More importantly is the secondary reaction which is the response of the drug by the body which generates the so called side effects of the treatment. It is these side effects that concern all of us. Always do your homework before starting any member of your family on anything, especially prescription drugs.

Last but not least one of my pet peeves, over vaccinations. Here is a great site for some very good information on why you should not vaccinate. Enjoy the read and please pay it forward. A Concerned Parent Discusses Why Vaccines May Not Be Good For You 5/9/01

Make today a great day.
