Our animal friends are the best teachers we have to learn
from. They are unconditionally loving teachers, who never
give up on us, no matter how poorly we perform as their
students. The following is to address the seriousness
the war is having on our pet's health. Also there is a very
special story to illustrate how special our pets are to
us all.
If a cat or dog wanted to leave us, they have the ability
to escape at any time they please. How many times have you
heard or seen of animals staying in a household which are
in severe distress? If they didn't care about us, they would
have abandoned us eons ago.
The responsibility we have to them goes beyond loving, feeding
and housing them. We must be aware of the effect our actions
have on them. I often refer to them as sponges. They try
to sponge up our problems and take them upon themselves.
This simply means we must be more aware of our own behavior
and how we take care of ourselves in our daily lives. They
have one goal and that is to help us find inner peace. Without
inner Peace there will never be World Peace.
The current war has created a need to be even more aware
of the above statements. We are all hurting from all of
the loss of life on both sides. Here are some things we
can do to help our four footed friends cope with stress
of the war.
I have seen many patients since the war began, who have
had return of their old symptoms due to the stress they
are feeling from their caregivers. I have recommended that
pet owners try to minimize the amount of time they watch
the war on television. If they feel they need to watch it,
at least make sure the animals are not showing signs that
indicate they are upset. If they see any indication the
animals are being stressed, they should turn off the TV
and or watch it where the animals are not being effected.
All of the animals should be on Bach Flowers. You can start
by putting Rescue remedy into their drinking water at a
dose of 4 drops per day in filtered water each day. This
way they can treat themselves when they feel the need. I
have prepared a stress formula which contains; Walnut (transitional
change), Gentian (see light at the end of the tunnel), Wildoat
(make sure they keep on their path in life), Star of Bethlehem
(emotional trauma) and Aspen (Fear of the unknown). You
can give this mixture several times per day or as needed
depending on how they act.
I also recommend using Release (essential oil blend) Young
Living Essential Oils -Independent Distributorship
which is good for helping them let go of emotional or
physical trauma. You can rub a couple of drops of oil in
your hands and massage down the backs of the animals. I
also recommend using Frankincense in their ears and down
their spines for strengthening their immune systems and
helping their spirits stay focused.
As you all know I cannot say enough about how Bovine Colostrum
The PePet Whispererč can help support the animal's immune systems
and neurotransmitters (help to balance the hormones necessary
for a sense of well being). I recommend 480 mg per 25 pounds
of body weight per day. You can mix this in their food,
milk or feed free choice depending on their individual needs.
I discovered another great vaccine information site that
I recommend you all visit and share with others. ThinkTwice
Global Vaccine Institute: Avoid Vaccine Reactions. For
those of you who are new to my newsletter, I always recommend
going to justsayno2vaccines
which is also an excellent site to learn about the truth
about vaccines and the possible dangers in their use. Never
vaccinate an animal when it is stressed or ill. Always consider
the risk of the vaccine toxicity against the risk of contracting
that which you are vaccinating for. If you are not comfortable
not vaccinating at all, I would only recommend Parvo and
Distemper two shots of each 4 weeks apart starting at 10
to 12 weeks of age. For cats I would only recommend Feline
Distemper if you feel the need to vaccinate. Rabies is a
vaccine required by law. Each state has its own set rules
as to frequency and type of vaccine. Here is a recent article
about over vaccination in dogs that I found at
Dr. Mercola's Top Rated Free Weekly Health Newsletter.

As always I have a story to share with all of you, which
demonstrates how animals try to protect their human caregivers.
This is a story about a good friend of mine, Norman K. He
is a 7 year old male Golden Retriever, who is a very special
gentleman to his Mom and Dad.
.....Norms's Story......
It
seems like only yesterday when Norman came walking up my
side walk with a big old smile on his face. When I
looked into his big brown eyes, I saw a very old soul looking
back at me. He then proceeded to put a big fat slobbery
tongue kiss on my face and asked me for a treat.
Norm's
caregivers were so happy to see me that we all had a big
round of hugs and kisses. It had been many years since I
had seen them due to my being away from my practice with
a very serious illness. They told me they had heard I had
returned to practice and told Norman they were going to
see the best vet in the world. I smiled and then proceeded
to tell Norman his parents were building me up a bit over
the top but that I would give him 110% to get him back on
the road to recovery.
As it turned
out Mr. Norman had chronic hip dysplasia and was having
trouble walking. When I got out the acupuncture needles
he looked at me like "what are you going to do with
those doc?" I explained to him how they were going
to help him feel better. He gave a big sigh and licked my
hand as if to say "Thanks for caring."
After his
treatment he got up, smiled and shook himself off with great
vigor. He then proceeded to show off how much better he
felt and headed for his ride home. Of course he wanted to
sit in the back seat and have his Mom and Dad chauffer him
home.
Years later
my wife Charene and I were invited to Norman's home for
dinner. When we arrived, Norman greeted us with his usual
cool California laid back look and invited us in.
It didn't
take long to realize who ran the household. As it turned
out every time his Dad got upset about watching television
he would come into the room, grasp his arm and make him
go outside. He would keep him in time out and then when
he felt it was long enough he would let him back in the
house. If he acted up again he would repeat the process
again and again.
As
it turned out his Dad finally gave up on football and watching
programs that got him upset so it wouldn't upset Norman.
His Dad finally realized that Norman was trying to protect
him from watching too much violence on TV and wanted him
not to get so upset.
Here is an excellent example on how our animal teachers
are constantly looking after us. All we have to do is listen
to them and honor their dedication to helping mankind.
I wanted to end my newsletter with an Australian Aboriginal
prayer.
"FIre BLessing
May the fire be in our thoughts,
Making them true, good, and just.
May it protect us from accepting anything less.
May the fire be in our eyes.
May it open our eyes to share what is good in life.
We ask that the fire protect us from what is not rightfully
ours.
May the fire be on our lips
So that we may speak the truth in kindness,
That we may hear with deep listening,
So that we may hear the flow of water
And all creation and the Dreaming.
May we be protected from gossip and from things
That have the ablity to harm
And break down our family.
May the fire be in our arms and hands
So we may be of service and build up love.
May the fire be in our whole being,
In our legs and in our feet, enabling us to walk
The earth with reverence and care
So that we may walk in the ways fo goodness and truth
And be protected from walking away from what is truth."
May all of our troops be safe and come home safely to their
families.
Please share this newsletter with at least three more friends
or family members. Thank you all for caring. Make today
a Great Day.
