The Pet
Whisperer™ October
2007
On October 26,
2003, the Cedar Firestorm took many homes including that of
Dr. Blake and his wife
Charene.
Four years later, almost to the
day, our community was forced to
evacuate from their homes, not knowing if there
would be any homes to return to. All of the same
emotions returned to all of us and we were thrown back into
the fire once again.
Charene and my faith has carried us
through many disasters in our 40 years together and this was
once again a challenge for us to share with each other and our
families.
Our hearts go out to all of the families
who have suffered loss in this horrific firestorm. We have
always said to those who have not been through a loss from a
firestorm, you cannot even come close to imagining what it
feels like to loose everything instantly and find yourself
homeless and with no where to go. The best thing you can
say to anyone who has sustained a loss you have never
experienced, is that you have NO idea what they are
going through. Until you walk in their shoes, you are
clueless. The best thing anyone can do, is ask how you
can HELP them and be their for them when they need a hand
up.
Charene, Dr.
Louie and Dr Blake are safe and
sound!
I am so happy to be able to report that
we are safe and our home is still standing. Our prayers have
been answered and we are so grateful for our good fortune. The
firestorm spared our home and that of our sons Sean and
Scott's. Our grandchildren Tanner, Nicholas, Madison, Skylar
and Dr. Christian are all safe and sound as are their
parents and grandparents.
Charene and I want to thank all of our
friends and readers from around the world for their kinds
words and prayers. Knowing we are in your thoughts and prayers
has made a huge difference in our healing process. We want all
of you to put all the families who have suffered losses in
this fire, into your prayers as
well.
What can you do
to help?
Please do NOT send
any financial or physical help to Charene and me. Any
donations, should go to those people who have suffered losses.
Four years ago all of you helped Charene and I in our time of
need, and we are asking you to do the same for those less
fortunate at this time. Your prayers and thoughts are more
than enough for us and it is time to pay it forward, just like
you all did for us four years
ago.
--Donate money. The Red Cross
vastly prefers monetary donations – the cost to organize and
distribute small donations of food and supplies is usually
greater than it would be to buy them. Donate on the Red Cross San Diego web
site.
--Set up tents. Qualcomm is
presently in need of people – boy scouts, specifically – who
can help set up hundreds of tents to shelter
evacuees.
--Volunteer. Volunteer
San Diego is accepting volunteers. Visit the Volunteer San Diego web site for more
information.
San Diego Pets and
Livestock:
The San Diego Humane Society’s
Animal Rescue Reserve team is working with the San Diego
County Department of Animal Services to evacuate domestic
animals and livestock threatened by the San Diego wildfires.
The Humane Society can assist you with pets in crate
and carriers at Qualcomm Stadium (9449 Friars Rd), Grossmont
Union High School, Fiesta Island in Mission Bay Park (horse
feed is desperately needed), and Granite Hills High School.
These locations also have the capacity to accommodate horses
and other livestock. The stables at the Del Mar Fairgrounds
are full.
If you have stables or large property and
can temporarily house evacuated animals, call the San Diego
Humane Society at (619) 299-7012. They are desperately in need
of horse trailers – call (619) 847-8755 if you have access to
one.
If you have animals that need to be rescued and
you cannot get to them, call (619) 236-4250.
According
to the Humane Society, volunteers and supplies are not needed
at this time, but the San Diego Humane Society is keeping a
list of names for people interested in helping. If you
would like to help, you can donate online or call (619)
299-7012.

HOW
CAN YOU HELP?
All American Red Cross
disaster assistance is free, made possible by voluntary
donations of time and money from the American people.
Below is a list of the ways you can help.
Make a
Donation In order to provide the best
and fastest assistance to those affected by the Harris
and Witch Creek Fires, the American Red Cross requests
individuals make a monetary donation.
(If you would like your donation to
support the Harris or Witch Creek wildfires, please
indicate so at the time of your
donation.)

What are Dr. Blake
and Dr. Louie recommending to keep you and your pet
safer
from the toxins produced by
the Fires?
I have written extensively on
my web site about how to live a healthier life on my web
site www.thepetwhisperer.com
on this page http://thepetwhisperer.com/pet_message.html .
On this page I have outlined
many ways to detox mind, body and spirit for people and
animals. My main focus would be on clean water,
purification of air and detoxing the liver, kidney and
lungs. These are the main organs that will be impacted
by the airborne toxins.
Essential oil blends I
would recommend are Purification. You can diffuse this
blend in your home, put on air vents in your duct system
of your home and or spritz your home several times per
day to help remove particulate material from the air.
I would also recommend
the Bach Flower Crabapple for
detoxing your body, water, air and food. You can put two
drops in 8 ounces of water and spritz your home, water,
food and sleeping area. I also recommend 2 drops in 8
ounces of water and drink through out the day. You can
also put 2 drops in your pets drinking water each and
change daily. You do the same with Rescue
Remedy, to help with the stress you are
all going through.
If you can get access to
Gemmotherapy , I would
recommend everyone take Common
Juniper for detoxing the liver and
kidneys, at a dose of 2 drops per day for cats, 5 drops
per day for dogs and 10 drops per day for horses and
people. Do this for six weeks and then weekly
thereafter.
Lithy tree
for detoxing the lungs, at a dose of 2 drops
per day for cats, 5 drops per day for dogs and 10 drops
per day for horses and people. Do this for six weeks and
then weekly thereafter.
No surprise to you all, I
recommend everyone take New Zealand Bovine
colostrum, to help keep their GI and
immune system as healthy as possible during times of
stress. You can read about this on my web
site. |
"The moment
you decide that what you know is more important than what
you have been taught to believe, you will have
shifted gears in your quest for abundance. Success comes
from within, not from
without."
Thank you
all for caring and listening to the old Pet Whisperer about
his friends the animals. All he asks is that you share his
words with everyone you know and ask them to do
the same. Paying it Forward makes the world a better place for
all living beings.
OAO,
