specific technique, developed between 1859-91 by the French
neo-impressionist painter Seurat, captivated Sean's attention.
For the last ten years, Sean has been developing a portfolio
which focuses on wildlife and endangered animals.
This systematic approach of pointillism
combines tiny dots and hatch marks of pure black color
to create textured and detailed images. Look closely to
see the fine detail! Sean begins each drawing with a
pencil sketch and uses rapidograph pens to to complete
the design. The dabs of pure black are mixed int he viewer's
eye to produced detailed effects. Original pieces are
18"x24" and take Sean 60-80 hours to complete.
His illustrative style is reproduced on 16"x20"
limited edition lithographs, unbleached cotton shirts
and sweatshirts and notecards.
Through his art Sean recognizes the unique
spirit, energy and wisdom of the animals of the earth.
