What is the picture of the Cherokee Warrior Princess and her beautiful horse trying to tell us?
I have always been a big admirer of the Native American People since I was a little boy. I always wanted to be an Indian when everyone else wanted to be a cowboy. I loved the simplicity of their philosophy about life and nature. Their respect for the Earth and all that inhabited it.
Some years ago I was blessed with being in the presence of a Cherokee Elder, named Warren. I spent a day listening to his stories and teachings. To my surprise we started out our conversation with String Theory, which caught me totally off guard.
I am putting this next quote form Expedia to give those who are not familiar with String Theory a little heads up.
String theory is a developing theory in particle science that attempts to reconcile quantum mechanics and general relativity. It is a contender for the theory of everything (TOE), a manner of describing the known fundamental forces and matter in a mathematically complete system. The theory has yet to make testable experimental predictions, which a theory must do in order to be considered a part of science.
Needless to say I had an amazing time learning and just being in his presence. We have crossed paths one other time since then and he is still going strong well into his 80’s. The one thing I remember best about our talk was the fact that the Native American Indians had the same thing to say about 2012 as the Mayan but in a little different way.
The bottom line was they predicted that there was a huge shift coming and it would occur at this time in the history of the world. Those who embraced the change from the ME to the WE philosophy would make the transition and those who did not would have a rough road ahead of them. Basically he said we are in for a wild ride as he puts it and you can have as much fun on the ride or worst time on the ride. It all depends on you.
I also met a Cherokee Peaceful Warrior who taught me that Zen can be entered from whereever you are no matter what the circumstances are as long as you have faith in the Great Spirit that dwells with in each and everyone of us.
The Warrior made it very clear. We are here to learn from the animals and do our best to be stewards of the planet. I asked the Warrior what was Zen? The Warrior replied, “Silence of the Mind.” I asked how do I get there? The Warrior replied “You can get there from any place but you are the only one who can get there. No one can take you there, they can only show you the way.”
The Warrior is in my thoughts each and every day. Don Miguel Ruiz always says, “We must awaken the warrior with in each and everyone of us if we are to ever to have Peace on Earth.”
The other thing I learned from the Cherokee Warrior and Warren the Cherokee Elder, was the 7 generation law of the Native American People. Please listen to the words of Elder Floyd Red Crow Westerman http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g7cylfQtkDg&feature=player_embedded#at=61 . All of us need to listen to Elder Floyd Red Crow Westerman’s words and learn what we all need to do each and every day to take back the Earth in a spiritual way.
I want to thank my Native American brothers and sisters of the world for being the stewards of our Earth.
Blessings from Dr Blake and Dr. Louie
