What is Sam smiling so big about? Yet another miracle ;O)
The picture on top is what Sam really is, King of the Jungle. The picture under it is his diquise in this world :O)
This is a story about an old feline friend of mine, told from the other side of the table. AKA from the caregiver, Nancy’s perspective. I had asked her some time back to write a story about how she saw her experience working with me from her side of the table too share with you all. This just came in hot off the presses and I wanted to share it with you all.
Sam’s story and his predecessor Baby’s story are below for you all the share with all you know. When I hear people say, “the only way too get rid of fleas is chemicals.” I reply NOT! Sam’s story and the thousands of animals I have shared natural healing with over the past 3 plus decades says otherwise. For those who say this doesn’t work, I reply..
“The person who says it cannot be done, should not interrupt the person doing it!”
Enjoy Sam and Baby’s stories and share them with all you know.
Steve Jobs said it best,
“I’m as proud of what we don’t do as I am of what we do.”
“Here’s to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in the square holes… the ones who see things differently — they’re not fond of rules… You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you can’t do is ignore them because they change things… they push the human race forward, and while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius, because the ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do.”

SAM’S EXPERIENCE WITH DR. BLAKE
Last summer my 12 year-old Sam, a feral kitten rescue, became infested with fleas. It was the first time in all his years he’d had more than the occasional flea. He’s always had access to the outdoors, but fleas never were a problem in the past. I have tile floors throughout, so there was no carpet infestation. I was flea combing daily, laundering his blanket and bed, but having no success with the problem. Of course, I would never use any toxic flea control products. So off we went to see Dr. Blake.
I’ve known Stephen Blake since the early 1990’s when I took my very ill 16 year-old Chocolate Point Siamese, Baby, to his office. Baby had been diagnosed as Diabetic, had had all her teeth pulled because of a proliferative gum disease diagnosis, and was in early stages of renal failure, and that was just for starters. I was in despair when a new vet at the clinic I was using literally risked his job by suggesting I seek out a homeopathic veterinarian as he didn’t feel this clinic was providing the proper care or the correct diagnoses for Baby. I luckily found Dr. Blake. He recommended we take her off all current medication and asked me if I was willing to take a chance that Baby might die during this process. I felt it was worth the risk as her condition was so dire we were already headed in that direction. Then, of course, all of you who know Dr. Blake have a good idea what happened. He worked his “magic” with homeopathy, acupuncture, and chiropractic adjustments. My Baby had another three-and-a-half year of good living. She passed in her sleep enjoying a sunny patch on our deck.
Sam sat at Dr. Blake’s feet and listened intently (as he always does during our visits) while we discussed the flea issue. Dr. Blake talked to me (us) at length about why Sam’s system might not currently be as adept at repelling fleas, and suggested we try three separate water bowls. One contained Gemmotherapy remedies, one contained a specific homeopathic remedy selected for his constitution and one bowl with Lifewave patches on the bottom with nothing in it, too be changed monthly
under his main water bowl.
Dr. Blake said we would leave it to Sam to know which bowl to drink from to get the support he needed. Now, I’ve trusted Dr. Blake for almost 20 years with my cats, dogs, but I was a bit skeptical. The flea problem was really bad!
However, I did as instructed, and over several days, I began seeing Sam deliberately choose one water bowl or another at various times. I won’t say the fleas disappeared immediately, but by the second week, they were dramatically reduced, and ultimately were no longer a problem. I continue to flea comb every few days to monitor, but we’re in great shape, thanks again to Dr. Blake’s insight, compassion, and capability.

Nancy and Sam
